Who is the Perinatal Psychiatrist?
The perinatal psychiatrist is a crucial member of the collaborative care model. The psychiatrist has in-depth knowledge of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology and will often be the go-to person for emergent situations with patients. They meet weekly with the care manager and obstetric provider to consult on cases and create treatment plans based on patients' needs and preferences.
